SCREENWRITING CONTEST GUIDELINES!

Belldandy!
For all those interested here are the rules for the contest:

1) All work must be an original or adapted piece. If in the circumstance you wish to adapt a screenplay (from book, play, etc.) you must confirm that you have received permission from the original writer (it is actually easy most of the time, especailly when you say it is a student film you are adapting the script for).

2) All work must be adaptable for a student based film. Meaning: simple enough for a small crew and cast to perform and work with, as well as a minimum need of CGI or other complex computer editing. You may write about any genre of your choice, and you may have the option to cross genres.

3) You may submit a maximum of two scripts. All scripts must be written for short narrative, from 3 - 20 minutes (a page a minute :). The cash prize will remain the same whether you choose to write a longer or shorter script (though narratives must be clear and solid enough to pass for a shorter piece).

4) If your piece is selected and you win the cash prize, your name will be credited, but all rights will belong to me and I may change certain parts of the script to my liking (sadly this happens all the time in Hollywood).

5) All work must be postmarked or emailed (DOC file) to me by August 31, 2007. Any scripts received afterwards will not qualify. Cash prize range is currently at $100 (yes one hundred, so I am expecting good things).

Mailing Address:
Box 6602
1 Chapin Way

6) There must be a minimum of 5 participants to have the contest. Deadlines for registering for contest are by May 1, 2007. Please email me, or comment to livejournal.

These are pretty much the rules. This is not a crazy law biding event, but it is obviously a legally binding event if I like your screenplay. I am doing this mainly because I am sick of writing and I want to give my friends a chance :)

Good luck and good writing!
